Daddy’s Girl Review
On November 15th, 16th, and 17th Cesar Chavez High School’s drama department put on the production of “Daddy’s Girl.”
There were many good things about the show like the costumes. For example the character “Darlene” changed costumes every time she left the stage and each one was glittering and amazing.the waitress “Betsy” actually looked like a waitress and the acted like a waitress and the cook “Benard”. the set was simple but creative the use of the materials around them is unique. they used school tables as a bar table. from the audiences point of view you would never know.
From the director or stage managers point of view it was difficult. things continuously went wrong like microphones dying, set falling, actors dropping lines, and actors getting sick. however we are proud of every single one of them. they did amazing. they carried the show, if they dropped a line they improved until someone remembered and picked it back up again.
Over all I think that the cast was a strong group of people who relied on each other like a cast should. There were some technical difficulties with microphones and music, but they pulled through and continued with the show. Once the show was over the drama club president Sheena Palaruan thanked the audience for coming which I think was very nice of them. The drama club always amazes me and I can’t wait for what’s yet to come.
The next CCHS Drama production will be Zoot Suit – February 23 and 24 as well as March 2 and 3.
