SkillsUSACA website shows and tells us that SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving middle school, high school, and college students who are preparing for careers in trade,

technical, and skilled service occupations. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. Many students in California and other states are preparing for competitions in Regionals. Those who pass will move onto state will compete against students to try and place gold to make it to Nationals which will be held in Kentucky. Cesar Chavez “Titan Skills” succeeeded at Regionals which was held at San Joaquin Delta College on February 8, 2020. 

As I sat and talked with the president of the Titan Skills club Jennifer Marroquin said,“ I wish the best of luck to everyone competing and hope that they pass and move onto state competitions which will be held in Ontario, California in April.” 

She also said, “ We look forward to everyone coming prepared, trying their best and representing Chavez. We are glad that we were able to get more students to join the club and get ready to compete. We also look forward to those who will be moving on to Ontario to prepare to compete for Nationals.”

 While talking with Jennifer she mentioned that in 2018 competitions Chavez had 2 students who worked together and received gold in both State and National competitions.

Update- Alejandro Garcia DelRio was also a member of the Skills USA Winning roster. Alejandro, a CCHS senior, was a gold winner in the Job Demo competition.
