New Dinosaur Discovered!
A skull found in a hunk of amber from northern Myanmar has given us one of the greatest dinosaur discoveries ever, and it was only 1/2 inch in length. The 99 million year old amber is smaller than the tiniest humming bird alive today. This 1.2 inch predator has a head the size of a thumbnail yet a mouth full of 100 teeth. The thumbnail size head also has bulging eyes coming from the sides.
Researches say its the smallest dinosaur found to date and it is only about 1/2 inch in length. “When I first saw this specimen, it really blew my mind. I literally have never seen anything like this,” quoted Jingmai O’Connor. A senior professor from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology in Beijing. The piece of amber was donated to the Hupoge Amber Museum in southwestern China and studied by a team of scientists.
