Lincoln Burrows is the older brother of Michael Scofield and he is serving time in Fox River State Penitentiary for killing Terrence Steadman, the brother of Caroline Reynolds, the Vice President of the United States. Michael Scofield is a man who takes extreme measures to save his older brother Lincoln Burrows from the electric chair because he believes Lincoln to be wrongly convinced for killing Terrence Steadman and commits a bank robbery to be sent to the same jail as his brother. Fernando Sucre is Michael Scofield’s cell mate in Fox River State Penitentiary. He is serving time for robbing a liquor store to get money to buy an engagement ring for his girlfriend and his cousin Hector turned him in because he was also interested in his girlfriend. Theodore “T-bag” Bagwell is a charismatic sexual predator and murderer and the scourge of Fox River State Penitentiary and worms his way into Michael’s escape plan when he learns of it and wields the constant threat of exposing his plan in order to join the prison break.

Brad Bellick is a corrupt prison guard captain at Fox River State Penitentiary and suspects Micheal Scofield is up to something so he tries to foil whatever Micheal is planning. Sara Tancredi is the doctor at Fox River State Penitentiary and Michael Scofield’s love interest.Getting Sara on his side is a key part of Michael’s plan to escape so he fakes type 1 diabetes as an excuse to go to the infirmary regularly to see her and to conduct recon. Benjamin Miles “C-Note” Franklin is an inmate at Fox River State Penitentiary and is a former US Army sergeant who was dishonorably discharged as retribution for speaking up about illegal torture of detainees. Inside Fox River, he works in the kitchen and has a reputation as a “pharmacist,” who is able to acquire anything someone might want inside and this ability is a crucial part of Michael Scofield’s plan to escape. Veronica Donovan is an old friend of Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, and Lincoln’s lawyer. Michael asks her to find out if his brother is innocent and puts herself in danger. John Abruzzi is a Chicago mobster incarcerated at Fox River State Penitentiary and as such he holds a great deal of power inside the prison walls and has a deal with guard captain Brad Bellick which gives him control of Prison Industries, so he determines who gets the cushy jobs.

Structural Engineer Micheal Scofield turns himself in to the Fox River Penitentiary in order to break out his brother Lincoln Burrows, who is on death row for the murder of the Vice President’s brother. Lincoln was set up by someone and is innocent. Veronica Donovan is Lincoln’s lawyer and looks into his case and noticed that something was wrong and tries to find out what really happened. Later on they get caught again and escape prison afterwards.

Season 1 finale “Flight” is where they finally get out. The episode begins showing the escapees getting over the prison wall, one of them does not make it and ends up spilling the names of those who had escaped. Right after they have escaped, Bellick is found in a hole that the escapees had built. Bellick is angry and wants to hunt them down. Abruzzi has arranged a van to be out there when they escape so they can get to a plane and fly away. They decided to ditch one of their obvious members, a mental patient nicknamed Haywire. After they ditch him, T-bag handcuffs himself to Micheal so he wouldn’t be picked off from the group. Afterwards they get their van stuck in mud and have to take their flight by foot. The pope is trying to hunt down the escapees and finding out how they have escaped. After awhile Micheal tells Tweener to take a hike or else he will tell the group what he did (he told Bellick what their whole plan was). As they are running twoards the air field Abruzzi’s men are feeling that the polices are coming so they decide to leave. As Micheal’s group arrives they see the airplane right above their heads and see the police standing in the airfield. It ends as one of the group member says “what do we do now?” Micheal responds “We run!”

This show is amazingly good and has a good storyline. Season 1 and 2 were very original and, clever and entertaining seasons. Season 3 were lacking ideas and just basically tossed them in prison again then they escape. Season 4 looked like a whole new show but with the same characters. You will love the first two seasons but not sure about the last two.
