Wentworth Miller plays as the intelligent and thoughtful Michael Scofield, the main character of the whole show. He has a very meticulous plan of what he is going to do, to be able to escape the prison with his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell). Doctor Trancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies), and some others were taken aback because Michael had no prior charges, and had graduated top of his class. Little did she know, he had planned her and her medical office to be apart of the escape plan. However, what was not planned was the feelings they both gained as time went on.

Supporting Characters

Veronica Donovan played by Robin Tunney, is a close family friend, former girlfriend of Burrows, and a lawyer that defended Michael Scofield before he was convicted. After realizing what Scofield was probably trying to do, she decided to look more carefully into Burrows’ case. Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), is the cellmate of Scofield. He was told about the plan, thought it was insane. Even though he only had a few months left to serve, he risked getting charged with many more years and got involved, because of the thought of freedom with the love of his life, Maricruz Delago (Camille Guaty). Peter Stormare portrayed John Abruzzi, a mob boss, also got involved because he needed information from Scofield, and had connections to help with transportation if they successfully escaped. Henry Pope (Stacy Keach), warden of the prison, trusted Scofield after seeing that he was a smart man with no prior charges. That’s where he went wrong.

Season 1, Episode 1 – The Pilot

The series started off by showing Michael Scofield, a clever structure engineer, getting his torso completely tattooed. It looked like just ordinary prints and portraits, but it was more than that. There was a hidden blueprint of the Fox River State Penitentiary. Soon after, he began his plan for the whole escape for his brother. Started by holding up and robbing a bank, firing a gun multiple times into the ceiling. Requested to be sent to the prison close by, which is also where his brother on death row is. He starts talking to the people he would need help from, everyone’s suspicious and cautious. He’s able to have a deal with the warden, because he had a clear history before now, the wardens thought he could be trusted. He is now able to be in the warden’s room three days a week to help build a structure for his wife. He finally sees his brother Burrows for the first time during PI (Prison Industry) and they spoke for the first time. Scofield tells him he is going to get them out, and shows him the tattoos of hidden blueprints. And that is where everything begins.
