Toy Story 4
The new Toy Story 4 trailer was been released earlier this month. In retro style the trailer shows the cast from the past three films and new characters that will be joining the cast. While the rest of the cast will return for the fourth film, Mr. Potato Head’s voice actor, Don Rickles, won’t be returning as he died on April 6, 2017. His death means that Mr. Potato Head won’t be having any lines in the upcoming film.
There will be three new characters that will appear in this film, but only one has been seen so far; Forky. Forky’s role has been taken by Tony Hale of Arrested Development. His new character will be a spork brought to life through some strings while suffering through an existential crisis of not actually being a toy. This new character can be seen in the trailer. The other new characters reported to appear will be Ducky and Bunny, voiced by the comedy duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele respectively. There has been no information on these characters so far, but fans speculate these characters will be the new villains.
Some of the plot has been revealed so far, being a romantic comedy about Woody’s relationship with Bo-Peep, and how he and Buzz Lightyear go on a journey to find her. The film has been confirmed to be a separate sequel from Toy Story 3 and won’t have any continuation from the previous films. This will be the last film of the Toy Story series. John Lasseter will be returning as director from Toy Story 1 and 2, and Josh Cooley will be co-directing. The film has been set for release on June 21, 2019.
