After all these years the Batman movie finally has started and casting has begun and this is what we know so far about the film. First things first, the film is being directed by Matt Reeves, you may know him as the person who created “The Planet of the Apes” movies. The movie itself will have no tie ins to the DCEU as it will be its own movie and trilogy. As the movie is set to release on June 25, 2021.

Director Matt Reeves said that he wants this Batman story to be a noir style where Batman shows off his detective skills, something that hardly was never demonstrated in any of the previous Batman movies. Of course you can’t make a superhero comic book film without getting a little inspiration from the comic books itself, as this story will be based on “Batman: The Long Halloween.” In that comic it uses a lot of villains from Batman’s rogues gallery like the Riddler, Penguin, Two-Face, Catwoman, and many more. As of right now most of these characters have been casted already to play in the up and coming Batman movie.

In case you haven’t known already, Robert Pattinson will be playing Bruce Wayne / the Batman. Robert Pattinson who is most known from “The Twilight Saga.” While those movies divided fans  back in 2010 on whether they were good films or not, Pattinson has made an effort to broaden his acting abilities. With his performances in movies like “The Lighthouse” and “Good Time” it shows Pattinson’s has been working on his craft since his time in the teen sensation, “Twilight.”

Next we have Andy Serkis who will be playing the butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Andy Serkis is a solid casting as he’s been in films like the Planet of the Apes movies as Caesar, Klaw from Black Panther and he is also currently the director of Venom 2. He is one of the best when it comes to motion capture too. By the looks of it  Andy Serkis’s Alfred could show off some military background skills and I think that would be amazing because he is the one that raised the Batman after all.

Next there is Jeffrey Wright who will be playing Commissioner Gordon. This is also a perfect choice, Jeffrey Wright just screams Commissioner Gordon especially with that voice of his. Hes been in movies like from the Hunger Games, Casino Royale, and the TV show Westworld. People were kind of upset from the fact that its not “comic book accurate” because of his skin color. It doesn’t matter, as long as the person is good with the character.

These next characters who I haven’t seen much from, but know who they are. These actors are all very great choices and they are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and Colin Farrell who is in talks to play the Penguin, but not yet confirmed.
