Avatar creators have left the live action remake
Many fans had mixed reactions when news first came out that Netflix was planning to come out with a live adaption, but we all felt a little better when we found out that the creators were actually going to be a part of this one. Everyone in the fandom was devastated when the movie The Last Airbender was released because it was just so terrible, so the new one can’t get any worse than that right?
Just a few days ago, August 12, Netflix announced that the Atla creators have left the new live action adaptation in June. This sent fans into a frenzy and afraid that the new one will come out just as bad as the M. Night Shyamalan movie. We really don’t want another ‘Studio’ movie with terrible acting and one that just adds random dance moves to make a single rock move. The creators were so excited when they first announced that they would be working among them, so what changed?
No one has really gone into detail why, but a story on Fandomwire came out that creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko mainly left because Netflix wanted to mature and age up the show to add more blood, romance, and mature content. This left a sour taste because the show is aimed for kids and not teens waiting for the new Riverdale. In the end, this is just a speculation and no one has yet to confirm if this is true.
