The Resident Evil 4 remake is a fantastic game that came out earlier this year, but fans of the series noticed a few things that were cut from the original game.
One game mode that wasn’t in the main game is Separate Ways. A game mode now turned into a DLC where you play as Ada Wong during the events of RE4, and you will see Ada’s side of the story while Leon is out on his mission.
You have new equipment like an eye scanner, the blast crossbow, and a grappling hook. This equipment will be used to solve puzzles and traverse through the map.
The Verdugo / U3 boss fight makes a return in the form of the DLC. The Verdugo was in some of the cutscenes in the main game, but it just walks away never to be seen again. This expansion adds areas that weren’t featured in the main game, some are old and some areas are new. The length of the DLC is around 3-5 hours, my playthrough was 6 hours, so it depends if you want to just get through the story or collect everything.
The expansion adds more lore and answers some questions in the story, the ending was also expanded and possibly teased for the next game.
The one downside to this expansion is that it is $10 instead of being free like in the original, you don’t even get the expansion if you own the deluxe edition or collectors edition of the game. Besides this downside, the DLC is worth the $10 because it completes the game’s story and the game itself.
Another thing to mention is that the Mercenaries mode got a free update, the update adds new stages and two more characters to play as. You can now play as Ada Wong and Albert Wesker in the Mercenaries mode.
