Box office weekend has returned, and Snow White appears to be performing poorly. Despite earning $3.5 million during preview openings, “Snow White has only grossed $87.3 million globally. While this may seem substantial, it’s a significant failure for Disney, considering its budget was between $240 million and $270 million. The film has also faced considerable controversy, which seems to have negatively impacted its performance. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds a rating of 44% on the Tomatometer and 71% on the audience score, indicating a lukewarm reception from viewers.
Additionally, Snow White appears to be dragging down the performance of other films, such as The Alto Knights, which has received mixed reviews. It opened with a box office total of $5.1 million and had a moderate budget of around $50 million.
Another release, “Popeye the Slayer Man,” debuted in theaters and on video-on-demand on March 21, 2025. This horror film features a popular childhood character that recently entered the public domain.
