RIP Kobe and Gigi – 3 year anniversary
On January 26, 2020, the world was at a standstill when everybody heard that the former lakers star Kobe Bryant died in his helicopter in Calabasas, Ca around 10 am morning on Sunday alongside 9 other people including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant nicknamed “ Gigi.” Everyone in the entire world was shocked and depressed knowing that the world just lost a hardworking leader. Kobe wasn’t just known for basketball, but as an amazing father with 4 daughters and a beautiful wife.
To honor this incredible basketball player on the day of his death multiple NBA teams decided to do 8 and 24-second violations inspired by the 2 numbers he wore during his 20 years in the professional league. A lot of people honored both Kobe and Gigi’s legacies by making morals of them, videos, and other creative things people wanted to do to share who they are not just as basketball players but as father and daughter. According to sources, Gigi’s last words before she died were “I don’t want to die” then when the helicopter crashed Kobe was hugging Gigi.
Celebrities like Stephen Curry, Shaq, Michael Jordan, Kevin Hart, Dwayne Wade, Taylor Swift, Drake, and others expressed their condolences to the Bryant family by sharing stories about Kobe and posting on social media to express the pain this tragic event caused. Now 3 years after the tragedy, people are still finding ways to express how much Kobe impacted lives and was dedicated to the game of basketball. He touched a lot of people’s hearts just Kobe being Kobe. There will never be another him in this world; he will always be one of a kind.
