NewJeans is a five-member Korean pop-music girl group. Its members are Hanni, Minji, Haerin, Danielle, and Hyein. The group debuted in 2022, and its age range is from 16 to 20. On January 23, they released their hit song OMG on Spotify, which had 771 million streams from their first single album.
Their songs have been charting, and everyone has been hooked on the situation between them, their label ADOR, and entertainment label HYBE. All members of Newjeans accuse HYBE and ADOR of ‘mistreatment’ and ‘manipulation.’
At first, it started with a dispute with former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, who found an issue, felt creatively stunted, and wanted to create NewJeans with her direction. This ended in a seven-month problem until Min Hee-jin resigned, which caused an uproar by NewJeans wanting her back as their lead in ADOR. Many fans argued about how Min Hee-jin influenced the girls, but others said she was a good person.

What followed was shocking as NewJeans said they would terminate their exclusive contract if their demands were not met within two weeks (to bring back Min Hee-Jin as their former CEO). The complications over all this time ended recently with NewJeans making a new Instagram account, Jeansforfree, and giving us hope that they will return. Who knows what this group will have waiting for us later on?
