Many reports show that Lucasfilm Director Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down by the end of 2025. Many people have wondered who would succeed Kathleen Kennedy. However, a Q&A was released by Deadline, which was told otherwise.
In a Q&A, Kathleen Kennedy was asked several questions, including the first one about her retirement. She responded, “The truth is I want to make it loud and clear: I am not retiring. I will never retire from movies and die making movies.” This is a bold statement, saying that she won’t retire in the future.
She also says that she is going to produce the Mandalorian movie, which will be released in 2026, and several other shows.
A lot of YouTubers have been celebrating Kathleen Kennedy’s Retirement, saying that she has ruined Star Wars, which I agree with. But apparently, we all jumped the gun because she said that she wasn’t retiring.
This all comes as South Park does an episode teasing Kathleen Kennedy and putting the famous line “ Put a chick on it and make her gay.”
Kathleen Kennedy was the co-founder of Lucasfilm along with the founder George Lucas. Before George Lucas retired, he made many good movies, including Star Wars and Indiana Jones. When Kathleen Kennedy took over, many people were pleased and thought she would bring a new era to Star Wars. However, she ruined the Star Wars IP, ruined the original characters that made them very likable, and made several sloppy movies and shows with some exceptions like the early episodes of The Mandalorian, Rogue One, and Andor.
Her reports of retirement gave us hope that the new person taking over would bring a new era to Star Wars.
