There Should Be No Restrictions on School Computers
How can you properly research, when half the websites are blocked?
The teacher gives you a chance to use a computer during class, to do research on an assignment. You log on and go to Google to see different websites and do a ton of research. But you discover that most websites are blocked! This is what the students of Cesar Chavez High School have to deal with on a daily basis. Limits on internet use, creates limits on what students can put in their work. This is why there should be no restrictions on school computers.
Allowing complete freedom on the internet can allow complete freedom of research. Instead of constantly viewing Wikipedia(and its limited information that is not always 100 percent true), students can have access to other websites that have better and stronger information.
Many are worried about students visiting inappropriate and irrelevant websites during class. This is complete foolishness and quite insulting. Not all students screw around during class, the percentage of those who pay attention and do their work is always bigger than those who don’t. How can a student properly succeed, if they are limited their research and are told they are not trustworthy enough to have full access to the internet.
Not all of the internet is helpful to students, but its better to have everything instead of having what is less than necessary. This is why there should be no restrictions on school computers.
