The Story
“The Flash” is a show that contains a mix of action, adventure, drama, fantasy, and Sci-Fi. Barry Allen, a crime scene investigator in Central City who gains a super human speed. He uses his superpower to catch criminals around the city including ones that have also gained superpowers. The TV show was developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff John, airing on the CW. “The Flash” appeared in North America on October 7, 2014 and with one season finished, it is currently airing with its second season.
Major Characters
Grant Gustin plays the main hero in “The Flash” as Barry Allen and Flash. He is a crime investigator in Central City. After getting hit with lighting, his life resolves around fighting off criminals, and with the help of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Canavagh), Iris West (Candice Patton), Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), and Eddie Thawne (Rick Consett). Dr. Harrison Wells, Caitlin, Cisco, and Barry all work at S.T.A.R Labs, doing what they can do to help Barry improve to control his new super power. Iris West and Joe West are close family friends and Eddie Thawn is Iris West’s boyfriend.
Supporting Characters
Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) was an Engineer at S.T.A.R Labs and also Caitlin Snow’s fiance. He is “known” to be dead from the particle accelerator explosion. General Wade Eiling (Clancy Brown) is a U.S Military that has an interest in metahumans, he’s had history with S.T.A.R Labs before. Malese Jow appears as Linda Park as a journalist in Central City that also has a interaction with Barry Allen and almost gets “together” with him. Mason Bridge (Roger Howarth) is a reporter in Central City Picture News; who also mentors Iris West. He gets suspicious of Harrison Wells and proceeds to investigate his past.
Season 1 – Episode 1 – The Pilot
Barry Allen, a crime investigator in Central City Police Department gets struck by lighting that was created by a particle accelerator that explodes from S.T.A.R Labs. After getting stuck, he goes under coma for nine months and wakes up in S.T.A.R Labs and was taken care of by Harrison Wells, along with Caitlin Snow, and Cisco Ramon. He learns that he has super human speed. He tests those powers by going after a criminal (Clyde Mardon) who has an ability where he can control the weather. Barry promises to find out who killed his mother when he was younger. Somewhere else in S.T.A.R Labs, Harrison Wells reveals that he is not paraplegic, while reading a newspaper from the future involving Barry’s fate as the Flash.

“The Flash” is mixed with action, adventure, drama, fantasy, and sci-fi. This is a modern show that involves super powers in Central City. Not only having “The Flash” as the super hero, there are also cross-over episodes with “The Arrow”. Each episode contains great character development. Viewers of the show continue to see how each character develops. The TV show is actually filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia. The show is based off the DC comic but with the help of Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns, and Andrew Kreisberg, they kept the show modern like and futuristic with its technology.
