VW Golf R 2021
Will the new 2021 Volkswagen Golf R be the ultimate hatchback? The 2021 VW Golf R costs around $28,695 and has a 2.0L turbocharged engine just like the old Golf R, but this time it makes 320hp and 310 lb-ft of torque and it will be AWD. VW claims it does a 0-60 in 4.7 seconds.
The exterior did get a more modern update such as a LED taillight that looks really nice and modern, and of course, a roof spoiler since it’s a hot hatch. They made the new rear bumper deeper to make it look more aggressive. In the front, you have a lower and more aggressive bumper.
One of my favorite features is that you actually have 15 different stages of stiffness for the suspension. This new Golf also has a new AWD system that allows you to send 100% of the power to the rear wheels according to Volkswagen.
I do have some problems with this car. The Golf has aluminum pedals that look great but watch out in the rain, if your feet are wet be careful because your feet can easily slip off the brake pedals. The other thing is you can also pay an additional fee for the performance package of the Golf R that adds a drift mode, the problem is that that feature is unlocked by a bit of software, even the standard version has it but VW won’t allow you to use it.
My final thoughts on the VW Golf R 2021 is that it is a good all-around car with some good performance and looks. It’s a good car that if someone would want to buy I would encourage them but I wouldn’t personally recommend one.
