Why should you join the Filipino Club? Well, the goal of the Filipino Club is to create an inclusive and supportive environment for our Filipino students population as well as anyone else. Filipino Club will raise awareness about the Filipino culture to students of all races through participation in cultural events throughout the years.

This one may seem really obvious, but joining after-school activities is a great way to meet new people, especially if you are new to the school. Joining a club connects you with peers that have similar interests as you.

I asked our 2021-2022 president of the Filipino club, Beatriz Madrid, also known as ‘Bea’, some questions about the Filipino club:

Q: What do you enjoy most about Filipino Club?

A: “What I enjoy most about Filipino Club is bonding with everyone in the club. We connect with each other on our experiences within our culture”.

Q: Why Should Students Join Filipino Club?

A: “I believe that Filipino club is a good experience for any student of any ethnicity. My reason for that is because we learn that despite our ethnic background. Many of us have been through very similar experiences. Whether it is being a first generation born American in our families, or our experience in America in general. It shows students that we are not so different after all”.

Filipino club is a safe environment. It is also a great experience. Cesar Chavez High School Filipino Club is a stress-free zone where you can dance your heart out, make new friends, learn about Filipino culture, smile, and laugh all day.
