Barbie is a doll created by Ruth Handlerand and manufactured by the company Mattel. The Barbie dolls were every little girl’s dream doll. You could dress her, play with her, and even have your own imagination come into play; the adventure was endless. Barbie was mostly created so girls could enjoy playing with dolls and help them imagine what they might want to be when they grow up.
The recent movie “Barbie” in my opinion was good, heartwarming, and eye-opening. The reason is because in the movie, Barbie-Land is what our childhood felt like; we were safe and naive, and everything seemed perfect. Barbie experiences mortality such as cellulite, and flat feet and doesn’t have her normal daily routine. In order to fix this problem she had to chase down her owner in the real world, where she realizes that it’s not what she thought it would be like.
Later on in the movie, in my opinion, it shows us how and what womanhood feels like. It shows what women have to go through on a daily basis. At the end of the movie, Barbie leaves behind “Barbie-Land” and comes back into the real world where she becomes a real woman.
After watching Barbie, it made me realize the only person that can choose the way you live is yourself and you can be anything you want to be.
