Yoda the new contraband dog is putting fear in the hearts of all drug dealers. Stockton Unified School District is stepping their game up with this new contraband canine.

SUSD is saving money purchasing their own drug sniffing dog to do the random searches. Last year the district spent $48,000 for the services of a contracted canine service. SUSD purchased Yoda from a shelter for only $5,000.

Officer Curtis Jue said now that we don’t have to pay every time we need one.

Now they can implement more district dogs like Yoda. If this is successful then they will bring in more types of dogs.

Officer Jue said if this is efficient we will definitely see a lot more types of dogs around SUSD.

With Yoda’s small size children won’t be scared. Children won’t be afraid to have their things checked.

Officer Jue said with a smaller dog it can get in all the nooks and crannies without a problem.
