First Amendment
Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. You should always fight what you believe in. That’s why the First Amendment was made in the first place.
Kansas students expressed concern over profanity tickets issued by school police. Students in Kansas school district face a $50 fine for foul language. Watkins, a student that went there contacted the local branch of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) about his concerns.
Watkins interviewed an officer and he said, “Whether they think they have the constitutional right of free speech, they also have the responsibility to be moral in public”.
Tinker v Des Moines Independent School District in 1969 has concerns. If students were wearing arm bands they were asked to remove them. Some tried to protest but realized their college records would be affected.
The court said, “Material and substantial disruption of school activities or invasion or the rights of another students.”
There is a lady that always stands in front of the White House. She believes that she is in pursuit of justice. She says, ” The people in the economy are crumbling and the crime is worse than ever.”
The First Amendment is the most important right because it’s all of the freedoms we have.
