Do you know the rights that you have according to the first amendment ?

People’s rights are often being violated in so many ways so they’re going back to the first Amendment as a reference.

The Kansas school administration justified profanity tickets under criminal laws to there former students. So therefore the students express their concerns over the profanity tickets that are issued by the school police.

One student had said, “I understand profanity is against school rules and cursing comes with consequences but giving someone a ticket of $50 for profanity seems a BIT EXCESSIVE!”  The students have the opportunity to challenge the tickets issued by the school police  by filling a grievance with their principle and see if giving the tickets are going to be an official thing.

Another one was a court case that was between the West Virginia state board of Education vs. Barnette. The W.V. schools required both students and teachers to salute the flag. But little did the school know was that the first Amendment gives you the right to not salute the flag if you don’t want. So of course Barnette had won the case 6-3, and as he won the judge had said “the school district did violate the rights of the students.”

Gobitis opinion he said, “That all teachers and pupils shall be required to participate in the salute honoring the nation represented by the flag be regarded as an act of insubordination and shall be death accordingly.”

As in the “Live Free” documentary, it had  showed a part of which was about the KKK. Even they had the right to have a rally. Due to the police officers they guarded them as they were speaking on how they felt about certain things. They got the right to assemble and speak religiously.

People need to obey and understand the rights that we have within the first amendment.
