This season Sonya Jones takes the court on the fresmen volleyball team. With no experience at all, she trys out for the team.

“I watched my sister play and it looked fun,” Sonya Jones, freshman, said.

Jones got help from her sister Celeste Jones , senior who is on the varsity volleyball team for Chavez. Now she is outside hitter and setter for the freshmen team. Not only does she play volleyball , but she also plays basketball off season with friends and hopes to make the team for Chavez.

“I was happy when I found out I made the team,” Jones said.

For this being her first time playing for a team she hopes to play all four years and get more experience and help from her sister to become a good player like her.
