March Madness Final

March Madness 2018 ended with Villanova Wildcats emerging victorious as the 2017-18 men’s basketball season National Champions. The Villanova Wildcats beat the Michigan Wolverines to win NCAA tournament. Both contenders were going in hot to the final and anything could happen.Villanova was doing amazing in the tournament by beating almost all the teams they went against by 18 or more points. While the Wolverines did not play a single game against a 5 seed or higher, making it there with last buzzer beaters.

First half started slow for the wildcats and was really going well for the Big Ten Tournament Champions. Michigan was really doing their job keeping the lead and not letting the Wildcats get going on offense. The Michigan defense was ranked 3 in the nation entering the championship game. Wolverine’s top ranked defense tightened the screws on the nation’s most efficient offense. Everything changed as soon Wildcat’s player Donte DiVincenzo came off the bench. DiVincenzo shot 10-15 from the field including 5-7 from three.  He finished with 31 points in 37 minutes while adding 5 rebounds and 3 assists. “If someone’s hot, feed `em,” said Jalen Brunson, the national Player of the Year, who also finished with nine points.

The game went on and the winner was clearly the Villanova Wildcats. They won by a total of 17 points by winning the program’s third overall title. Villanova won all six games by more than double digits through the 2018 tournament run. They now join Michigan State (2000), Duke (2001) and North Carolina (2009) in completing that rare feat.
