Cesar Chavez Football Team beat Stagg 53-14 last week, securing their first birth in the CIF playoffs in five years. However, due to the lack of juniors and seniors that have taken the PSAT test last week, Principal Jackson has cancelled the Varsity Football playoff game. 

Mrs. Jackson stated early monday morning after her call to CIF, “Academics are priority at our school. It is STUDENT – athlete, not ATHLETE – student.”

Gio Gonzalez, senior captain and quarterback had this to add, ” I don’t think it is fair for a principal to determine what is needed for all students on campus. We are athletes. Our coaches can determine best for us.”

As of now Valley high school will be replacing Chavez in this years CIF playoffs.
