Thanksgiving Football
On Thanksgiving day were 3 divisional games that kicked off at 9:30 pst. The Chicago Bears played the Detroit Lions, as customary. The Bears are the number one team in the NFC North while the Lions are Fourth in the NFC north. With addition of Khalil Mack the Bears Defense have been a top 5 defense in the NFL and on Thaksgiving held the Lions to 16 points while winning 23-16. The Lions just traded away Golden Tate, one of their Big 3 for a fourth round draft in 2019. This lead to a very difficult day for Stafford.
Next game that kicked off at 1:30 pst was the Washington Redskin the number one team in the NFC east against the the Dallas Cowboys, the second best team in the NFC east. We hoped for a match up of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott versus Colt McCoy and Adrian Peterson. The Cowboys duo showed up and played excellent in a 31-23 victory. Dak threw for two touchdowns while Elliot surpassed the century mark, and donated himself to the salvation army for the second straight year.
The final game on Thanksgiving Day was another divisional game that had the New Orleans Saints facing off against the Atlanta Falcons at 8-1 and Drew Brees having a MVP season with Alvin Kamara and Mike Thomas assisting. The Atlanta Falcons on the other side of the ball came in at 4-5 having Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Tevin Coleman. The outcome left the saints victorious over the Falcons in winning 31-17.
