On Friday, August 23rd, the Chavez Titans varisty football team had their first game. They opened the season at Mountain House. The Titans started out sluggish in the game looking to go into halftime down 7-22, but a kick return for a touchdown by David Taylor started the second half comeback early. The Titans outlasted the Mustangs with a score of 46-28 for their first victory of the season.

Player of game was David Taylor (9) with 104 all purpose yards and a touchdown. Chavez will next be squaring off in Sacramento against Valley High School, on Friday August 30th. The Valley Vikings suffered a loss in their opening game against Laguna Creek 38-0.
