In this Divisional Round matchup, the #1 San Francisco 49ers host the #7 Green Bay Packers this Saturday at 5:15 P.M. in Levi’s Stadium.
This comes after the #7 Green Bay Packers pull off a huge upset of the #2 Dallas Cowboys in Jerry World which they won 48-32, but don’t let the score fool you that game was over at Halftime in which the score then was 27-7
The San Francisco 49ers open as the favorite to win this game as they are 9.5-point favorites via MGM Sportsbook.
Keys to Victory
San Francisco 49ers:
If the San Francisco 49ers want to win this game and move on to their 4th NFC Championship in 5 years they need to do these things:
- Play Mistake Free Football: The Green Bay Packers profited off mistakes by the Cowboys which caused them to lose the game before halftime some of those mistakes were a pick 6 and an interception in the Cowboy’s endzone.
- Stop The Run: Aaron Jones had 118 rushing yards with 3 rushing touchdowns on 21 rushing attempts you simply can’t allow the pack to run all over you.
- Run the ball: The Packers are ranked 28th in run defense and the Niners have a legit MVP in the backfield with Christian McCaffrey who led the NFL in rushing yards with 1,459.
Green Bay Packers:
If the Green Bay Packers want to pull off another upset they need to do these things:
- Capitalize on mistakes: IF the 49ers make mistakes you have to capitalize like you did against Dallas you might be able to pull off another upset.
- Start Fast: The cheeseheads made a bold decision against Dallas by electing to receive against the Cowboys after winning the coin toss and it paid off because they scored and set the tone for their team.
- Keep Your Foot On The Gas: This 49ers team is vicious. They have 2 MVP candidates in Brock Purdy and CMC if you keep it close they’re going to win so they’re going to need as big a lead as they can get.
Fan Predictions: I asked a fan of each team why they think their respective teams will win according to Packers fan Sean, “Cause would you rather be green or red, red’s the color of wrong er, green correct ding!!”
Meanwhile, Niner fan Justice says “Niners are going to win because of their offense, they have units, Christain McCaffrey, Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, Trent Williams, even Jauan Jennings don’t sleep on him, and especially Brock Purdy. The Defense is already stated #1 defense they have Fred Warner. All linebackers, D-Linemen stacked, safeties kinda, the DBs goated, like they’re gonna win. They’re gonna apply pressure to Jordan Love. He felt no pressure against the Cowboys. The Niners are going to win because Jordan Love never felt pressure like that and the Niners know how to apply pressure, but I am a little bit worried about Jake Moody.”
Prediction: Both of these teams have a tough matchup ahead of them but I do believe the San Francisco 49ers will come out on top as they have had 20 days of rest and will be back healthy with a key addition of Arik Armstead to help stop the packers run game and bolster up that pass rush but it will be close at first but then the Niners will pull ahead.
San Francisco 49ers – 38
