Question 1: How did you fall in love with hockey? And what do you love most about it?
Isabella: “I fell in love with hockey from kinda like my sister, best friend, and my dad they all kind of loved hockey and then I started putting on skates and I ended up falling in love with it.”
Question 2: What drew you to the University of Michigan? And how did you feel about getting accepted?
Isabella: “It’s one of the best hockey at least in a hockey community it’s like ahhh Michigan you know it’s like for Team USA both of the team captains play for Michigan hockey and so when they sent me a letter asking me to come check us out I was like absolutely.”
Question 3: What is a hidden talent that you have?
Isabella: “Mmm a hidden talent that I have is I can figure skate as well. I did a few figure skating classes so I know hockey skaters are known to hate figure skaters but you know I can do a few spins on the ice too.”
Question 4: What type of impact do you strive to have?
Isabella: “My biggest goal is to show that little girls can play hockey too and that girls can play hockey in general because it’s such a boys club sport and I know that we have the national league now for women, but so many little girls don’t know theirs an opportunity for them so I try to have that impact for them.”
Question 5: What type of competitor are you on the hockey rink? And what do you take from the hockey rink to be successful in the classroom?
Isabella: “I’m competitive. I will be honest I do trip a little bit. I know I’m not supposed to, but it gets me in the penalty box a few times. I’m very competitive when it comes to on the ice because it’s my sport and I get a little cocky on the ice sometimes too. How I take it in the classroom is I’m very dedicated and motivated on and off the ice and it shines through the classroom as well.”
Question 6: Out of everybody in this world, what sets you apart from everybody else?
Isabella: “Definitely my motivation cause I never thought I would make it to be here I started playing hockey when I was 5 hockey has always been a dream of mine but then I really pushed myself even harder and now I’m going to end up in Michigan and maybe one day I might play for the National League but who knows so I think it’s my dedication that sets me apart from most.”
