Titian Girls Take Control on The Field

Many people believe that football is only for guys. However, once a year at Cesar Chavez, the juniors and seniors girls play a game called “Powder Puff”. Powder puff originally brought the important message that femininity does not have to shy away from the mud puddles. Although, in today’s society, that message is constantly turned it into a joke? Being feminine does not mean defying all things pretty and glamorous, and it doesn’t mean being confined to them either.
Powder puff football is about encouraging girls to have fun, receiving the equality of support from their peers, and to help fundraise money for our boy’s football team. But while having that fun, girls should be given the chance to prove that they can sink their hearts into something and give it their all. That is why Cesar Chavez gives those girls the opportunity to demonstrate their motivation on the field instead of sitting in the bleachers watching the boys play.
Many students at Cesar Chavez High School are completely thrilled to see the match between the junior and senior girls. However, many student differ on the choices of who would win. As I went around the campus in search of people’s opinions on “Who would win in the powder puff game April 2nd, 2015”, there were several disagreements.
According to the students I surveyed the majority believed the “juniors” would beat the “seniors” taking the winning crown.

Kristy Vang, a participant of the junior powder puff from the CAPA SLC, eagerly responded by saying, “ I have so much faith in my junior class. We worked very hard and everyone gets along so well. As a participant, I am ready to defeat the senior class!” Other girls on the team also have the same ambition to strive because they know it would all pay off with all the effort they put into the upcoming game.

Similar to Kristy’s response, Molica Ly, Junior from the CAPA SLC commented, “ I think the juniors would win because I know most of the junior girls. They seem pretty competitive and crazy on the field…”

On the other hand, other students don’t have the same mind set to supported the junior girls. Either they believe the seniors would win the crown or they would tie the game. .

“I think they’re going to tie because they lack in spirit and effort”, Ethyn Soeun, senior from the Engineering SLC.

“I believe the juniors are more academic than athletic in general,” Kira Maszewski, a junior form the CAPA SLC said, “ And the seniors are more vicious, which would means the senior would win”

In result, 50 students from Cesar Chavez High School responded to the surveyed. According to their feedback, the majority believes that the Junior girls would win. On the other hand, other students also believes that the senior would win, or tie the game. However, we will receive the results on April 2, 2015.powder puff
