Tropical Night
Tropical night is Poly Club’s big performance of the year. It’s on Saturday, May 13, in the auditorium. Doors will open at 6:00 pm and the show starts at 6:30 pm. It’ll cost $5 for students with ID and $8 for adults.
Tropical night consists of all the dances taught to the 40 members from the beginning of the school year. The dances are Tahitian and Hawaiian. The dances will range from traditional kahiko (Hawaiian chant) to more modern pieces.
The night will also honor all seniors involved in Poly Club, The 3 seniors in Poly Club will be dancing a song that they choreographed together. The 3 seniors from Anapa Nui’(guest performers) will have solos as well.
As mentioned before, Anapa Nui will be guest performing the second half of the show. Anapa Nui is a professional Polynesian dance group which practices on campus with Coleman. The group has current Chavez students as well as Chavez alumni.
