Chavez for Change

CCHS students are making a change in community member’s lives around Stockton. Would you like to be a part of making a positive influence on another’s life? Then join Chavez for Change. Chavez for Change is a club created last year, by Erykah Samuels. The club is designed to help the homeless. Samuels decided to start the club because of the the homeless people seen in the Downtown area of Stockton. Some of the events that they take part in are, food drives, clothing drives, and creating care packages. They raise their money by using school events like, Throwdown; they also use Jamba Juice cards, and do volunteer work to gain profit. As of right now they have around one hundred members but around sixty come per meeting. They meet every Tuesday right after school in E124, and welcome new members with open arms so come on over and make a change.
