The Cesar Chavez Jazz Band has always been one of the shining stars of our outstanding music program for the past 2 years. It has been a very successful journey for them so far and it wouldn’t be the first time either. With the help of their amazing director, Arthur Coleman, and fellow reputable musician in all Stockton. Yes, you heard that right! This school year year alone they have walked away victorious with a total of 4 honorary titles including: two 1st place titles, one second place title, and even winning 2nd place at one of the most prestigious jazz competitions in January, the Folsom Jazz Festival. In Fact, for the FIRST time in the past four years, their Combo A, which only featured a selected few of these talented musicians, competed at Folsom as well, and received scores of all 1s, the highest score possible, from all the judges!

Behind all of these trophies and winnings is a group full of dedicated, multitasking Titan students. No only are most of them some of the most intelligent people of their class, but hard working athletes, and apart of various other groups of the music program including our incredible Mariachi Chavez, Winter Drum line, Marching Band, and Show Choir. Lets not forget that lately they’ve been popping up to as many elementary y schools as they can in order to influence the youth to become apart of the music program here at Chavez to keep this form alive! How incredible Its been an amazing year so far for Titan Jazz Band and we wish them all the best of luck at their competition in Reno, Nevada in April! Lets bring hoe that 1st place trophy!
